Todays Small card of 7 events has more then a open look as every single race is very compititive.

Race 1:to start the Day with a VB race is always a bad sign. In my opinion every single horse has a fair winning chance however how many of the 8 horses are on Job is another question my first choice is Princess Samerah even with I shiekh stands a very very good chance to win from the very well prepared Acceptance . In all honesty in this race there is nothing like a safe bet hence the race is best avoided.Firecracker is the youngster in the pack and if the jockey can handle him he will upset and is worth a small eachway punt as N Lagad is the only trainer that tries all his horses.

Race 2: Being a Vb race There are 5 3yos whos true potentials are still un known in my opinion 2 of the in my opinion 1-4-5-9 are all un tapped potential and should finish ahead of the rest. I am going for a outsider Winning Treat who looks to have come to hand nicely will be suited by the 7flg and can win here or at worst place at long odds from Arks Angel who belongs to an unpridictable owner. Horses 5-9 can also sspring a surprise.

Race 3: Stellar Affair will be the horse to beat today if the jockey can handle the pressure the only danger is Zarzaitine who has now come to hand and is a danger to one and all and will be the one to look out for . Snow Blind in my opinion is a false favorite who won last time when no one else seemed to be interested to is a different kettel of fish and will find it difficult to sustain here hence avoidable

Race 4: Black Sapphire should win in this weak set if the intentions are right. Red Mesa should place

Race 5: Toughest race of the day where any horse can win luck will play a major roll here My first choice is Red Indian who has everything in his favor if the intentions are right to win from Star O'war who has been hiding true form fo a long time today drawn 3 can runaway from this set and is worth a eachway punt.Pillatus won well last time however is running in a span of 7 days plus is a horse that never runs two consistant races hence avoidable. The upst horse here is Born To Lead that cant be ignored today the connections have opted to run her in a higher as she is not a wieht carrier dont ignore and a small punt can go a long way.

Race 6: Babeinthewoods on jockeys judgement looks to be the one to beat from Onus Probandi who looks well perpared.I have ignored Sierra Vista due to the jockey if she wins good luck. I am personally going to take a small chance on Tapis as a eachway bet.

Race 7: Liberty Speaks is up in distance and up in wieght hence avoidable however the horse wont have a problem staying the distance,Lil Miss Sunshine won well last time but beat Jhonny Bravo, I still have my doubts on her staying the trip hence avoidable and is the false favorite. My first pick here is Equality who does belong to gambeling owner but is very well place on handicap to win watch the betting on him and decide.Mountain King, last win was very impressive and can repeat.Cavaradosi also comes into contention due to malesh's judgement. Over all a very tricky race hence I am going to eat L Miss sunshine and let the best horse win. I will be having a small eachway punt on Hishamwho can upset on basis of handicap dont ignore.

Review of THE NANOLI STUD PUNE DERBY (GRADE 1) (Terms, Indian Horses, 3 years old only at the time of starting.) (About) 2000 Metres.

Here is how I read the pune Derby please read with a open mind and vote on the poll.Please note this is only my opinion and not a formula of picking horses I am open to suggestion as long as no personal comments are made and I also understand that after all this I could be totally wrong but that cant change the way I look at big races.



1)Antonios, 3y bc R (56) Glory Of Dancer (GB) / Twin StarBy : Portroe (USA)Stud: Nanoli StudTrainer: S S Shah

In my opinion a very talented horse started his campagn in April and won uninterested by 5 lengths purly on class.Well rested till july when brought back on track and rushed into preparations for the THE F. D. WADIA TROPHY 1400M Race 70 on 17th Aug where a ran green and looked underdone finished just ahead of F Flame at level terms where F Flame had a benifit of a run and finished 5lths behind Devine conceding 3 kgs. on handicapping terms he was 9 lghts inferior to Devine and on level terms with F Flame.was rushed in running THE GENERAL RAJENDRASINHJI TROPHY (GRADE 3) in a span of 13 days (which is a very short span for a horse in between race 91 on 30th Aug lost D Dynamite in the Stewards room conceeding 8 kgs to him but on paper beat him by 1 3/4 lghts hence on paper D Dynamite is 8 lgths superior however since his run was in a span of 13 days and now well rested and prepared with a stronger rider (malesh) who should be riding him in the derby expect a improvement of atleast 7-10 lenghts after this race.

POONAWALLA MILLION (GR.2)TERMS - 3 years old only 1600 mts with 60 kgs and lost to F Ace by a wisker conceeding 6kg which on level terms means he is superior then F Ace by atleat 9 lenghts concedering it was his first run compared to F Ace's 3 rd run an improvement of 5-7 lenghts is expected.



3) Dancing Dynamite 3y, dkbg Glory Of Dancer (GB)/Double WishSir Bruce

Should run Favorite in the derby has nothing wrong so far is probably the only horse that has run all his races well prepared which gives him a negetive chance in the derby as others have room for a lot of improvement.won the THE P. HADOW TROPHYA Handicap for Horses rated 60 TO 86 over a mile beat the under prepared Aquadizic well and was the best prepared horse in the set the beaten by Antinos on paper giving him 8 kgs over 1800 once again ran very well prepared and proved to at least be 8lengths superior then Antonios on the day. Will handle the trip well but I dont think the horse will improve any further from last run as he has been at his peak.



4) Flaming Ace 3y, chg China Visit (USA)/PrevlenceRazeen (USA)

One of the most talked about horses in current time only raced twice and can improve won the september handicap in style however lack of experience can go against her chance looks highly unlikely to spring a surprise maybe mumbai but keep in mind her timing of 1-38.74 is the best of the lot.



In my opinion the top 3 horses will be the to 3 contenders. Antonios showed a improvement of 7-10 lenghts after his first run and can improve a further 7 lenghts with malesh aboard and good rest. F ace who reached his peak when beating Autonomy showed a improvment of 9lths since first run if you compare Divine as a comman horse hence Antionis can sho a improvement of 17 lengths since his first run and jockey factor which is a 6lths improvement over F ace.As explained Autonomy at derby time will be atleast 16lths better the F Ace hence 10 lenghts better then Antonios.As explained D Dynamite was 8lths superior to Antionios who can show an improvement between 7-10 lths since that last met and D Dynamite reaching his peak it is possible that Antoniois will beat D Dynamite once again on level terms. Hence Par mishap or bad luck Autonomy should not lose the derby and Antonios will follow him home with D Dynamite and PHENOMENALE.

FLASHING FLAME in my opinion is over raced and out handicapped which leaves only 3 horses.3. MILES AND MORE who his gradually picking form and has the best jockey in the set is running the right distance too but its hard to predict anything on this moody horse that has either won by a distance or finished last.Hence my top to picks are 5. FIERY FORTUNE who has a clear handicap advantage and if D Singh who has lost confidence in riding can handle him will be right there with 4. SILENT PRESENCE whos only question is if he can stay and if he does he will win.

My first pick is the under performed 8. NASEEBDAR to win from the inform 3. PARIS HILTON . the dark horse here is 7. THE REBEL who won unfancied last time which is a rare occasion for R Khan horses today he looks prepared and has enough class to win if asked to.

Alothough the other horses can win here My first pick is KANGAROO PUNCH who is well prepared afater a easy run to win from SPRAWLING ELEGANCE . the dark horse here is FOUR SEASONS who is running amongst her peers today for the first time and can give a bold show.

Race 3: POTENTIAL STAR has been penalised 14.5 kgs for her last win as he true potential this a negetive for filly and is not worth a bet under 1 1/2 good luck if she wins. My first pick is GOLDEN KISS whos last run is best ignored and has a decent handicap hence can beat the favorite. CANNON RUN is the dark horse if the jockey can handle it should atleat place.

Race 7: its a bit of a worry when you see only 4 runners in the cols trial stakes of the 4 only one horse has had a run here.I dont think ARCHIPENKO who is a big horse will enjoy the pace here which could be his down fall.My first pick is MARK OF GIBRALTAR to win from FANTASTIC QUEST will be a toss up.

Besides the First two race all races are very open Go Slow.

Race 1: looks clearly between 2 ONUS PROBANDI and 3 ADDICTION the only problem is that the latter has had only one spurt since 24th aug and a lot of swimming hence fitness is a ??? the former hence has a slight edge as he is improving with every run.Since I don't bake favorites I might leave this race or have a small each way punt on 7 JOHN CABOT who has been tracking well and with 50kgs on the back can spring a surprise.



Race 2:8. BELLIGERENT looks like a smart galloper and if all goes well should win however 1. SAARAH today is running her pet distance and looks to be prepared well enough to attract attention but has to beat the former.4. TAPIS is the dark horse.

Race 1:VB race where form has no meaning but the looks like the race is between 1-6. My first pick is the well rested 6. ARABIAN HERO who is worth a small eachway punt from 1. BU ATTIFEL .

SECRET PILGRIM has done nothing wrong so far but i dont think the pace of this race will suit her and 7. RAGHUVANSH is best left alone after the last run if he wins the good luck.

Race 6: Altough big names are racing here the race still has a very open look an upset looks eminent the horse that i believe is best suited by the terms and is worth a punt 5. FLAMING ACE is my first pick to win from 1. AUTONOMY who is too big a horse and the tricky pune course with 60kgs is not up to my liking8. NORA is also well suited my the terms but the jockey is the worry . 3. DANCING GLORY is the dark horse who can upset.

MYSTERIO suggest the horse should win however the jockey has to hold his nerve and at these odds its a big ask.Although I believe the horse can win from a punting point of view it will pay to halve your bets.6. HIDDEN DRAGON or 8. MAVERICK my instincts suggest the former will upset but trackwork and preparation suggest the latter hence I am going with the latter who should at worst place.

Today's card is tough with higher odds horses can dominate the finish. N Lagad will dominate the first 4 races but which of his horses will be tried will be a big ??

Race 1:Avoidable race however 2. MADAMME BIJOUX has the best credentials and the odds seem to be for the jockey and not the horse however I will be making a small each way bet on 9. DISCOVER who can win.
