Race 1: Very interesting race and if you go purely on handicap Living The Dream, stands tall, Running of this race is the key and dash to the wire is likely. Star Of Gibraltar, is definately the better of the two fancied runners and should win provided his stablemate decides to win.

Race 2:Another tricky race Difficult to judge Risky Business, as no form, late starter and average trackwork, the horses belonging to this trainer always seem to have one sided support when fancied however with only two winners in the season makes no sense may win but not worth a bet.Alejandra, was not ridden on merit last time, today the connections have opted to run him in a higher class and bottom wieght plus the fact that CNB is off and blinkers on means a start to finish tactic will be adopted will run a good race today and will be the one to beat. From the rest horses 5-6-7 are interconnected if one is tried the others will be on holidays, Pumba, is one horse to note however its likely that the connection will have a gamble in the lower class this horse if tried can cause a upset watch the market and decide.Cypress Point, is nothing special but Celestial Call, and Light My Way, are classy horses and are the 2 animals that will trouble the fancied runners.The second named is a better class horse has been stripped fitter and come down to winning condition if tried he will be hard to beat.Best to leave the race or take a small eachway chance on Light My Way.

Race 3: Open race with many likely contenders horses 1-2-3-4-5 and 9 should dominate the finish. I personally think Arctic Minstrel,Oriental Dawn, Great White,and Aristocratic, have the best credential the second and third named are inter connected, the second named belongs to a gamble owner and if she is backed the first named can be discounted the first named is the horse of form and well placed and should be the one to beat. Aristocratic, is the likely upset if his blood vessels hold up.

Race 4: Victorian Vice,                Upset: Barringo,

Race 5: Worst race of the day where any horse can win luck will play an important role and if you pick a winner here good luck.Rebecca,Angels Pursuit,Emerald Valley, and Borderline, are my short listed 4. The second named is very well prepared and will be right there and the last named if fit can upset.

Mumbai Derby 2012

Not the best start to blogging but looking at the brighter side it can only get better please go slow today as it is a very tough day for racing.

Race 1: Very Open race with many horses in with a chance best to avoid.

Tips: Money Strike,Mumbai King,          Upset: Rising Asset,

Race 2: Clinton, is nothing special being a 5yo racing for the 3rd time indicates he has issues is up in class and distance and today running amongst a few genuine horses will need to be a very good animal to justify the odds can win but not outstanding as the odds  suggest best to avoid. Horses All the 8 runners here can win if tried which is very likely.My short listed  are the bottom 4 horses based on handicap and some form.Apache Indian, is an unsound animal too but is best placed on handicap has a decent jockey and has a fair chance if his legs hold up,So Royal, is a better animal then where he is running however has fitness issues too dont worry about the jockey as he know how to nurse un sound animals to the post will be the one to beat.Carlyle Hills, is sound and well placed on handicap will be there if he stays and lastlty Tara, who is running her pet distance was given a easy run first up has the right jockey to guide her fortunes and will be right there.

Race 3: Once again its anybodies race as the race has some upcoming youngsters and some vetrens its will be tricky to pick a winner.Scarlet Pimpernel,  has a distinct handicap advantage and should make the most of it. Chemin De Fer, will relish the long mumbai straight and should be right there but keeping in mind that the same owner has 3 other horses running in this race is difficult to suggest a bet.Moon Flower, is well place on handicap today has the right jockey and will be right there to trouble the best. Scarface, can never be discounted as a upset.

Race 4: First timers so hard to say but Smokey Baba, and Capital Attraction, will dominate the finish. Make note of Snow Angel, for a Upset will relish this trip and can cause a upset.

Race 6: Bad race

Tips: Su O Moto, Belmont,             Upset: Alecto,

Race 7: THE MCDOWELL SIGNATURE PREMIER INDIAN DERBY (GR.1)
1) Astapi, : Only thing going for him is the jockey who can get a bit extra from the animal but not today.
2) Cardinal,: Nice animal but will be tested today, Wont stay the trip, was lucky to win last time but the horses who he beat will finish ahead of him today as the fast pace wont do him any good.
3) Field Marshal, he is one of the few animals in this set with a big heart I must admit that he is my favorite horse or one of them, I am not a big fan of his owner but I do believe that he will run a very very good race today, I dont think he has the stamina to go the extra 400 mtrs but keeping in mind that there are a few speedy animals he will be setteling well within himself and will be dictating the terms  till the last furlong and If I am not mistaken about his heart he can Upset.
4) Knighton, something is wrong with him but will stay the trip.
5) Marauder, pacemaket that can keep going but lacks that class.
6) Picasso, : One of the few horses that has just been prepared for this race only, His run in the2000 g was very good but the horse gave up when challenged by Pronto Pronto althoug he was moving better at that stage, the jockey has bput a lot of hard work in his prepwork and it is very likely that he is going to be the last challenger in the straight as he seems to have this habbit of giving up. I honestly would have had him as a good bet today but I dont think he has that heart. May be I am wrong but time will tell.
7) Pronto Pronto, the one with a big heart prepared for this race only has done everything right so far will be right there again and if he loses it will be at the hands of the jockey.
8) Pronto Star, is there to keep the former honest.
9) Ranthambhore, Great animal great heart and the peoples darling the race has come to early for him but it will be a wonderful thing if he wins Good Luck to the connections.
10) Star Marquess, Heres anothe horse that has been brought here with only one race in mind, It is clear that he is a better animal then southern bay or he would not be sent here ahead of him, his first run in mumbai proves my point when he lost thanx to the wonderful effort of the jockey he has been very well prepared and being a colt will be running after the 3 fillies today and in my opinion he is the best of the boy brigade and if luck is on his side he will win.
11) Hills And Stars, one of the main contenders is a great filly prepared only for this race jockey knows her well and she has all in her favor today can win but not out standing.
12) In The Spotlight, What a horse she is and I am sure the connections know she will run her heart out I think the race has come a bit early for her but I have no doubt in her talent she will be in the spotlight anyways.
13) Smashing, won very well and it would be great if she wins but she is running against some very good horses who are well prepared and well rested.

Finally this will be a wonderful race to watch most horses have in them to win and now luck and jockey skills will decide the outcome. Jockeys on the two fancied fillies are very strong on their haorses and have prepared them accordingly may the best horse on the day win. In the back of my head Hills and Stars has had the best prepartion, In the Spot light has had the best form, Pronto Pronto and Field Marshall have a big heart my instincts are saying Star Marguess but my judgement if tilting towards  Piccaso and In such races I always follow my instincts hence the following are my picks.

Race 8: This is a wrong jodi of Coccinella, and Palazzo Grazioli, the first named has won well twice but has not beating any thing special and the second named has managed to place once in her 4 starts in mumbai. this field has some established sprinters and this puts them to a big dis advantage.Horses 1-2-5-7-8-12-13-14-15-16 all have a fair chance if tried. Our Chieftain, Sugar Loaf,are Salt, genuine sprinters and should trouble the best todat.Make note of Royal Honour, if ridden in check will take full advantage of the handicap and can upset should be right there.

Race 9: Apocalypse, has been prepared very well and can win only if the right money comes on him watch the market and decide.Otherwise there are many horses that can win here if tried hence best to avoid this race or have a small eachway bet on Silver Lining, who is tracking well and can upset Money Flash, is also tracking well but has a bad draw. Make note of Belle Brise, for a big upset or jackpot purposes.

Race 1: Elena, should win par mishap.

Race 2: This is a very interesting race a few good contenders and a good finish is likely. Horses 2-3-5-8 will dominate the finish. Sergeant Pepper, is a nice animal in good form but is not worth a bet at such low odds. Haunting Fantasy, is running in a handicap race only the second time in her career has challenged the best and on that merit is better then the former if she has recovered since the oaks she will prove that. Lake Geneva, and El Clasico, are the danger to the top two on handicap and jockey merit the first named seems to find one better every time and has the distinction of finishing in the top 3 in all her 9 starts. The second named in my opinion is a far superior animal but seems to have not recovered since his fall in pune. his last run was ridden to lose today at this handicap backed up by some good workouts I am fairly confident he will win.

Tips: El Clasico,Haunting Fantasy,          Upset: Lake Geneva,


Race 3: First timers hence hard to say however Supreme Minstrel, has no initial speed to justify being a favorite in this set best to avoid.Asahi, had a easy run first up has been tracking well since then and will be the one to beat.Blue Wonder,Piano Man,Queen Of Venus,and Serena, are first timers but in a forward condition and can make the finish interesting.

Race 4: 22 horses hence look for value bets or leave the race as anybody can win here. Since the trip is over a mile horses drawn wider who like to come off the pace will be finishing on.

Race 5: Another difficult race where any horse can win. Etesian, has come up a lot since last run and is my first pick to win. Follow Me, can repeat but if there is a big upset her its time for Generalissimo,

Race 6: Very interesting race and jockey talent will decide the out come however if Blackjack, is sound she will leave them standing but its difficult to reccomend such animals.otherwise its a very open race.Demonstrator, has come down a lot the last two spurts suggest he is fit and ready to strike and should right there at the finish.Saints N Sinners, is the dark horse can upset.

Race 7: Once again a open race however Lorelei, is a horse that has cught my attention was given a easy run first up was impressive today a step up in distance and backed up by some decent track work and a good jockey expect a gamble on her she will be the one to beat. Since most horses here are maidens it will be a interesting finish.

Race 8:Very Open Race  Machiavellianism, looks a very smart horse but have no idea of the quality of horses he beat in hydrebad, his mock race in mumbai was not that impressive so I am unsure. Southern Opinion, has won 2 brought to mumbai and prepared with million races in mind is tracking well.Silver Birch, won well but is nothing special. Cocktail Circuit, was a good winner first up and will like the mumbai strech should be in the fray. Days Best, was an eye catching 4th first up blazing the track has the right handicap and jockey and is the one to beat.

Race 2: Summer Sun, is a gamble horse but very well prepared will win if tried watch the market.Hillton, is the dark horse.

Race 4: Bad race there may be a gamble on a few horses here hence its best to watch the market trend. Horses 1-2-5-8-10 should be ones in volved at the important end.

Race 5: Should be a straight fight between the top 3 Arabian Prince, has a slight edge but will have to fight every inch with Ordained One, who has a strong rider and can produce the results.

Race 6: Anybodies race Rare And Precious, and Silken Touch, are my top 2

Race 7: Royal Nature, should repeat, Anna, is the likely danger.

Race 8:The fancied pair of  Shivalik Prince, and Saratoga Spring, have a huge task on there hands in this set the latter is better then the former. This is a very open race and an upset is very likely. Horses that can great a flutter are horses 5-8-9-10. My first pick is Chantilly, who is ridden on mert will be hard to beat.No Doubt, has been knocking on the door for far too long and sucess is close provided his stablemate Grand Success, is in a galloping mood if so he can upset.

Taking a Break

Hi Guys,

   Due to personal reasons I am taking a break till the end of the month. I have too much going on in my personal life and am only focusing on it at the moment. Please accept my apologies but its beyond my control at the moment.
I have personally taken a break from racing but do go through the card quickly and if there is anything worth a mention I will post it. I do understand its Classic season hence I will try and give my opinion on those races if time permits.
